Ferrero da Barolo

A family tradition that combines a love for the land and a great passion for wine.

 

From distant 1922, when Donato Ferrero bought the property from the land lords of Mirafiori Parodi, the farmhouse consisted of a country building and some beautiful vineyards in the municipalities of Barolo and Novello, there have followed a good five generations of industrious vineyard workers and expert wine producers.

 

From father to son, in this family all precious teachings are handed down which has made the wines of the past so great and that will guarantee, also for the future, wines of high quality and of a particular standard.

 

All the vineyards are owned by the wine producers and are located in the sunniest positions along the panoramic road that leads from Barolo to Novello. The soils, of the upper and middle hill, are composed of compact marls rich in precious mineral elements necessary for the longevity and elegance of the wines produced.

 

The property extends over about 12 hectares of specialized hill vineyard . The method of vine cultivation is the traditional Guyot ad archetto (A variation on many different forms of cultivation where canes are arched rather than tied horizontally ). The fertilizing of the soil is carried out exclusively with organic fertilizers and the treatments against diseases of the grapevines contain natural sulphur and Bordolese pulp.
